The Lai Family Residence, built in 1928, is a traditional three-sided courtyard house. Its main hall and the protective wings feature exquisitely carved eaves and pillars, giving it a charming historic feel. The left wing of the house is especially notable for its hip-and-gable roof, a distinctive architectural feature. Despite the 921 Earthquake, the residence has stood firm and remains one of the few fully preserved century-old buildings in the area. It is not only a witness to the development of Yongxing Community but also holds the collective memories of the Lai family across generations. Today, the descendants of the Lai family still live here and have opened a community library, making it an important hub for preserving and sharing cultural heritage.
