Yongxing Village, once called Niuwenlu, is a scenic Hakka village surrounded by mountains and rivers. It was one of the earliest developed Hakka settlements in the Shuili area. Crossing the Yongxing Bridge, visitors are greeted by flowing streams, distant mountains, and peaceful farmland. In the past, the village’s economy revolved around harvesting camphor trees for camphor oil. Today, it has transformed into a center for refined agriculture, offering hands-on rural experiences and craft activities. The village still preserves many historical and natural landmarks, including the old Lai Family Residence and a centuries-old sacred camphor tree. As time passes, Yongxing remains a simple and tranquil village where visitors can slow down and savor the beauty of life in a mountain community.
