Mei Leisure Agriculture Area

Thanks to its pristine mountain forests, abundant water sources, and favorable day-night temperature differences, the Mei Leisure Agriculture Area produces exceptional plums, grapes, navel oranges, sweet persimmons, and other fruits. The air carries the delightful aromas of tea, mushrooms, and wine. The name “Mei” comes from the ancient character for plum, reflecting the area's specialty. It is a peaceful rural corner where visitors can wander slowly and savor every moment.

Throughout the year, you can enjoy seasonal fruit picking experiences. Spring brings plum harvesting and fireflies lighting up the evenings. Summer is perfect for picking grapes, while autumn offers sweet persimmons and navel oranges. In winter, the plum blossoms are a highlight that keeps families and travelers coming back again and again. Beyond fruit picking, you can also make your own plum products, try your hand at crafting the cute Daidai pens, or visit mushroom farms to learn about cultivation and harvesting. People who enjoy hands-on activities and experiencing rural life will definitely have a wonderful time.

The area has small ponds where fish nibble at your feet, simple guesthouses, orchard tea houses, and the Shuili Magpie Bridge, the longest single-span suspension bridge in Nantou, creating a romantic setting for couples to photograph and explore. After a leisurely walk, visitors can savor hot plum tea while listening to local tales and soaking in the unhurried, genuine rhythm of country life.
