Known as the most beautiful corner of Jiadong, the Zhang Family Commercial Building, also called the Zhang A-ding Residence, stands at a bend in the street and is the most representative street-front commercial building in the area. This two-story red brick structure was built in the early Japanese colonial period, around 1910. It once served as an important grocery store where residents purchased daily necessities and traded seafood. After years of abandonment, the building was rescued through the efforts of local communities and cultural history groups, with restoration funding provided by the Hakka Affairs Council. It was completed and reopened to the public in 2014 and is widely regarded as a successful example of revitalizing Hakka architecture and strengthening community identity.
