In the past, in addition to serving as a spiritual center for its congregation, the Emei Catholic Church adapted to social needs by offering community services such as a clinic, kindergarten, and credit union. However, with the decline and migration of church members over the past six decades, the church no longer has a resident priest or holds Mass. Concerned about the church's deterioration, local enthusiasts established the Yeshantian Workshop, supporting local entrepreneurship by selling handmade bread that has become renowned for its unique flavors and high-quality ingredients.
