Emei Lake, also known as Dapu Reservoir, holds the distinction of being Taiwan’s first reservoir constructed by local hands. Serving as the primary irrigation source for Emei Township, the lake presents a picturesque landscape where mountains meet water, sunlight dances on rippling waves, and gentle breezes add a touch of poetic romance. Visitors can immerse themselves in the lake’s beauty in various ways: cruising on eco-friendly boats, strolling along the 3-kilometer lakeside trail, admiring panoramic views from the Ximapu Suspension Bridge, or relaxing at a lakeside café. The walking trail, designed with even paths and wooden railings, is easily accessible for all ages. Along the path, seasonal flowers and trees create an enchanting display throughout the year — with yellow trumpet trees, tung blossoms, azaleas, osmanthus, and bald cypress all taking turns showcasing their beauty. Several nearby attractions are also worth exploring, including the Nature Loving Wonderland, Shierliao Leisure Agriculture Area, Shierliao Chapel of Angels, and the Emei Lake 3D Floor Painting.
