With a history spanning over a century, Dangui Temple remains an important spiritual center for the people of Emei Township. Built in the 12th year of the Tongzhi era during the Qing Dynasty, the temple honors the Three Great Emperor-Officials, Shennong the Great Emperor, and Wenchang Dijun. Each year, the Ghost Festival ceremony begins at Dangui Temple, weaving through the alleys behind the township office, past the police station, and back to the temple, where the community gathers for ritual prayers and chanting.
Nearby historical landmarks, such as the Ujiie Teiji Memorial Stele, the old flagpole, and the historical water tower, are also worth exploring. Evergreen Park, located on the hillside behind the temple, is a thoughtfully designed recreational area with beautiful scenery and lush greenery, making it a popular spot for local residents to walk and exercise.
