The Liudui Hakka Autumn Harvest Festival, an annual celebration of harvest and Hakka culture, was named a national-level event in the 2026-2027 Taiwan Tourism Biennial Calendar by the Taiwan Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, a distinction that highlights its importance and marks the ongoing legacy of local Hakka heritage.
This theme of the 2025 festival was “Feast on Blessings, Gather Fortune.” The Thousand-People Feast was held at Liudui Hakka Cultural Park with 135 banquet tables. A striking 7-meter lantern art show, paired with the lion dance and drum performance from the Zhutian Hakka village in Pingtung, heralded the official start of the feast. The menu featured 11 carefully selected signature dishes, designed and prepared with local ingredients and traditional Hakka culinary techniques from the Liudui area. Each year, the Hakka Culture Development Center offers over one hundred banquet tables for public reservation, and reservations for the 2025 festival sold out as soon as they opened. The event drew crowds from across Taiwan and Japan to Liudui to experience Hakka food culture firsthand.
The 2025 Liudui Hakka Autumn Harvest Festival began on November 1 and featured a continuous series of weekly activities. Additional events will follow during the Lunar New Year period, including the 2026 Liudui New Year Blessings Spring Festival, the Bogong Birthday and Floral Arrangement Competition on the second day of the second lunar month, and the 61st Liudui Games to be held in Jiadong, along with other diverse and enriching programs. The public is invited to visit the Liudui region and take part in these festivities.
