The annual gastronomic event, the Taiwan Culinary Exhibition, is set to tantalize taste buds from August 2 to 5! At today’s (30th) pre-exhibition press conference, Deputy Minister Fan Tso-Ming of the Hakka Affairs Council, representing Minister Ku Hsiu-Fei, joined forces with distinguished guests to unveil this year’s delectable offerings. Alongside Taiwan Visitors Association Chairperson Chien Yu-Yen, Taiwan Culinary Exhibition Organizing Committee Chairperson Yeh Chu-Lan, and Tourism Bureau Deputy Director-General Lin Hsin-Jen, Fan Tso-Ming extended a warm invitation to all. He particularly encouraged visitors to explore the HA-FOOD Pavilion, promising a fresh take on Hakka cuisine that’s sure to excite the palate.
Deputy Minister Fan announced an exciting lineup of eight major Hakka industry brands, long-supported by the Hakka Affairs Council, set to showcase their specialties. These include NeiShan Kumquat Sauce, Camellia Oil, Sour Citrus Tea, Tankan Cakes, Gongguan Mustard Green (Fu Cai), Maoli Black Tea, Neipu Pickles, and Zhutian Soy Sauce. Through the 18 booths, the Hakka Affairs Council aims to catapult Hakka cuisine onto the international stage. As a special treat, Michelin Green Star Chef Thomas Chien will make a surprise appearance, demonstrating his culinary prowess and offering visitors a chance to delve deeper into Hakka culinary culture.
With 600 booths at the 2024 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition offering a symphony of flavors, the event will feature Michelin Bib Gourmand-recommended restaurants, top chefs, and even celebrity chefs. The HA-FOOD Pavilion promises a unique blend of traditional and innovative Hakka cuisine. Today’s press conference offered a tantalizing preview, featuring award-winning dishes from the National Hakka Stir-Fry Culinary Competition, including Imperial Delicacy’s Hakka-style fish with pickled mustard greens and stir-fry rolls. Hakka-style tacos and burgers from FIW FIW and XinCheng FengTang’s citrus ice cream honeycomb cake were also on display. Each dish, crafted with fresh ingredients from eight major Hakka brands, tells a story of tradition meeting innovation.
During the exhibition, the HA-FOOD Pavilion will offer exclusive discounts on a variety of souvenirs.
