Wanluan pork knuckles are well-known far and wide. Pork knuckle shops gather in one street, making it popular among tourists during mealtime. Wanluan's cacao is also a specialty. At Pingtung Cacao Park, in addition to buying various chocolate products, there are food and farming workshops, markets, and AR tours for you to explore. Pingtung Taiwan Cacao Fest is held here to promote Taiwanese chocolate. There are also many bicycle paths in Wanluan for visitors to tour around and get to know Wanluan on bikes.

 
Fun activities
  • There are many pork knuckle shops on the Pork Knuckle Street, each with its own flavors and features. For authentic pork knuckles, this is the place for you to explore!
  • Wugoushui Community preserves the traditional Hakka style. The famous Liu Family Ancestral Hall is here, and so is the lively Liugdui Blessing Pole-Firecrackers Beating series of activities.
  • Wanjin Sugar Railway Bicycle Path, which was rebuilt from the old sugarcane transport railway, connects attractions with old memories of Wanjin such as Wanjin Basilica Church and Nanzhou Sugar Factory.

Hakka delicacies
Flat rice noodles
Ban, which is made by grinding rice with water into a pulp that is then steamed, when cut into strips, becomes flat rice noodles. Stir-fried flat rice noodles are made with fried shallots and pork strips. Flat rice noodles in soup are made with broth and chives. They are both delicious Hakka dishes.
Cacao (chocolate)
Pingtung has advantages in climate and environmental conditions for planting cacao trees. With farmers' hard work in planting and processing, cacao beans are turned into mellow and rich chocolate, which can be combined with various fruits and spices to create cacao products.
Wanluan pork knuckle
The main feature of this dish is using only the hock of the front leg and retaining the tendon to enrich the texture. After a long period of braising, the whole pork knuckle will be cooked through, having fully absorbed the sauce. The skin is bouncy, and the meat is tender. With a special garlic dip, you can’t have enough of this dish.
