Jiaxian is the renowned hometown of taro in Taiwan. There are many delicacies in the business district but visitors should be sure to try the famous taro snacks, and Cat Alley. Hean Painted Lane and Dingkan Village are even more impressive and make Jiaxian a veritable "painted village." After making the trek up the 350-meter high ground, visitors can look out over the purple town. A photo of Jiaxian Bridge, rebuilt after a disaster is also a must, with colorful lights turned on at night. Take a look at the "Century-old Camphor Tree" and "Jiaxian Park." A trip to Jiaxian introduces travelers to not only the sweetness of taro, but also the vitality of simplicity as represented by the district.

- The Jiaxian shopping district is home to a wide variety of specialty shops and gourmet snack restaurants such as taro and bamboo shoots. It is also a supply station for tourists before going to the mountain and the best place to purchase souvenirs.
- Visitors will not want to miss the annual Jiaxian Taro and Bamboo Shoot Festival
- Jiaxian Bridge is the entrance to Jiaxian and serves both a transportation and landscape function. There is a sculpture of a taro at the head of the bridge which also has a light purple main body.
- The paintings in Cat Alley were completed by local artists, communities and schools working together. Here, cats are the main characters and it is a must visit place for cat lovers.
- The Century-old Camphor Tree located in front of the Jiaxian branch was planted during the period of Japanese rule and has born witness to the prosperity and vicissitudes of the Jiaxian camphor industry.
- Jiaxian Baozhong Yimin Pavilion is at the center of Hakka beliefs. Yimin Ye’s spirit of selfless sacrifice and dedication will always be admired by people regardless of ethnic group.
- Highland Ecological Vision Park is a forest trail suitable for mpst people. It only takes seven minutes to reach the top, from where visitors can look out over the entire Jiaxian area.
- Jiaxian Fossil Museum collects fossil specimens discovered locally. It has an extensive collection that preserves the rare prehistoric natural culture of Jiaxian.
- The post office next to Cat Alley has a mailbox in the shape of an "orange cat messenger." Small colorful umbrellas decorate the alley, and there are colorful cat footsteps on the road, making a brief walk in the short alley particularly interesting.
