The "2026 Liudui Hakka Cultural Park Museum Day Strolling Experience (bogˋ vud gonˋ ngidˋ man man eˊ hangˇ)" takes "Museums Uniting a Divided World: Dialogue, Understanding, Inclusion, and Peace" as its theme. Museums hold the potential to serve as bridges across cultural, social, and geopolitical divides, not to erase differences, but to create spaces where those differences can be understood and met with respect. Through a series of relaxed, immersive activities, Liudui Hakka Cultural Park weaves in the histories and stories of local Hakka communities, inviting visitors to discover the living heritage of Liudui.
This year's Museum Day at the park embraces a laid-back, family learning approach. Activities include traditional Hakka Gardenia Rice Cake, lion-themed balloons, water balloon fort siege, and indigo dyeing, all designed to help families discover Liudui at their own pace in a warm and joyful atmosphere. The park also looks forward to building connections with partners and communities across the region, working together to promote "Liudui" as a shared brand.
More than just an eco-museum, Liudui Hakka Cultural Park offers visitors a deeper understanding of Hakka village culture through mural documentation, digital archives of cultural artifacts, and preserved cultural landscapes. It also serves as a platform for local Hakka industries, giving regional businesses greater visibility and a wider audience. Beyond preserving and passing down the stories of Hakka villages, the park champions local enterprise and celebrates the passion of the Liudui people, all in pursuit of a shared goal: keeping the collective memory of Liudui alive for generations to come.
On Museum Day, the park is teaming up with the Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park for a special joint ticket promotion. Visitors who spend NT$150 or more on cultural and creative products at Liudui Hakka Cultural Park can redeem one free admission ticket to the Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park, valid through the end of May. June brings a full lineup of seasonal activities, including celebrations for the Hakka "May Half" festival coinciding with Dragon Boat Festival, along with hands-on corn harvesting and rice planting through the park's Farming Classroom.
