Don't Just Take Our Word for It! Romantic Route 3 Arts Festival Earns Another Accolade! Winner of the Taiwan Creative Awards

Date:2023-12-08

The Taiwan Creative Awards ceremony took place today (December 8) at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, organized by the magazine La Vie. The Hakka Affairs Council (HAC) received the Top 10 Creative Exhibitions award for the 2nd Romantic Route 3 Arts Festival: “Falabidbog”. HAC Deputy Minister Chou Chiang-chieh shared that the 2nd Romantic Route 3 Arts Festival was centered on the idea of an arts festival. In addition to collaboration from government agencies, the help of the Hakka Public Communication Foundation and multiple private-run teams was enlisted. The public and private sectors joined forces to promote the culture of Hakka villages.

The Taiwan Creative Awards have been held by La Vie since 2014. Encompassing visual arts, music, performing arts, handicrafts, and other fields, the structure of Taiwan’s cultural and creative industry is explored to select the winners. Starting from 2017, the Taiwan Creative Awards have been held biennially and are now in the 6th edition. HAC earned recognition for the 2nd Romantic Route 3 Arts Festival, which spanned 150 km across 17 townships in five cities and counties. Combining art, design, landscaping, cuisine, and other trades, the festival showcased the rich combination of diverse cultures—including Hakka, Hokkien, indigenous, and Japanese—that has taken place in Hakka villages over the ages, endowing them with a rich historical heritage.

In addition, the 2nd Romantic Route 3 Arts Festival won the bronze award in the Digital Innovation Category: Best Programmatic Marketing Innovation at the 2023 Digital Singularity Awards for its project named “Curating and Advertising Can Be So Much Fun”. This project also earned a nomination for the 2023 Agency & Advertiser of the Year: Outstanding Guided Buying of the Year Award, and was awarded Themed Exhibition of the Year and Design of the Year at Best 100 (Taiwan Design Best100).

What’s more, the Romantic Route 3 Arts Festival also swept three 2-star awards in the industry category at the 2023 Food Innovation Awards—popularly known as the “Oscars of the food sector”—including Design Aesthetic Innovation, Social Media Marketing Innovation, and Catering Service Innovation for the FOOD Experimental Project’s Cii Jar, Falabidbog Hakka Taste, and Arts Festival Kitchen, respectively. HAC seeks to bring ever-vibrant Hakka activities to the wider public’s daily lives, taking a proactive approach to passing down Hakka culture.
