Taking the train to Zhutian, you will first arrive at the Japanese-style Zhutian Station. Old facilities such as the ancient well and bath are kept in the station. Combined with Dr. Ikegami Ichiro’s library and Li Xiuyun Photography Museum, Zhutian Vision is born. Lemon and soy sauce are the specialties of Zhutian. You can also taste authentic Hakka rice-based dishes here. The diverse products and rich history of Zhutian are waiting for you to explore.

Fun activities
  • In the early days, Tiaodi Village was a distribution center for rice and grains. Dada Port, Jingzi Pavilion, and Bagong show the Hakka cultural heritage here.
  • Meilun Village in Zhutian is the hometown of the mother-in-law of the author of Old Master Q. There are authentic wall paintings of Old Master Q here!
  • Liudui Zhongyi Temple is an important Yimin temple in southern Taiwan. Grand religious ceremonies are held here every spring and autumn.

Flat rice noodles
Ban, which is made by grinding rice with water into a pulp that is then steamed, when cut into strips, becomes flat rice noodles. Stir-fried flat rice noodles are made with fried shallots and pork strips. Flat rice noodles in soup are made with broth and chives. They are both delicious Hakka dishes.
Hakka rice balls
Hakka rice balls are mainly a savory dish. The soup is added with finely chopped leeks, celery, fried shallots, mushrooms, and lean pork. Combined with the white and round glutinous rice balls, this dish is perfectly flavorful.
