Gongguan is not only one of the main producing areas of mustard leaves in Taiwan, but also the main location for mustard leaf processing. It is therefore known as the "Home of Fu Cai (preserved pickled mustard leaf)." In addition to a variety of activities such as squeezing Fu Cai, picking red dates and taro, there are also more ways to enjoy Gongguan such as making pottery and visiting the Golden Town bicycle path. It is a great place for family outings.

Fun activities
  • In the painted pottery workshop at Wugu Ceramics Tourism Factory, you can use your creativity to make personalized pottery.
  • Chuhuangkeng Mine in Gongguan is the place where crude oil was first discovered in Taiwan. Today, Taiwan Oil Field Exhibition Hall is set up here to display precious cultural artifacts.
  • Agricultural products such as Fu Cai, red dates, taro, and dried persimmons bring large groups of visitors to pick fruits and taste the freshest fruit during harvest season.

Fu Cai is a dish of blessing for Hakka people. It is made by air-drying, sun-drying, pickling, and fermenting mustard leaf. The unique sour-and-salty flavor is suitable for soup, stew, and stir-fry dishes. It is indispensable in Hakka cooking.
