Changzhi is located in northern Pingtung County. The terrain is flat and it is the first of six Hakka communities. The residents are mainly Hakka, followed by Hoklo speakers and industry is predominantly agricultural.
Pingtung's annual "Tropical Agriculture Expo" is a tourism event held in Changzhi Township, where visitors can enjoy agricultural landscaping and painted rice fields. In addition, there is also the Agricultural Technology Park Ornamental Aquarium, Pingtung Agricultural Products Store, with a public art work by Kusama Yayoi.
