Hakka delicacies
Cacao (chocolate)
Pingtung has advantages in climate and environmental conditions for planting cacao trees. With farmers' hard work in planting and processing, cacao beans are turned into mellow and rich chocolate, which can be combined with various fruits and spices to create cacao products.
Camellia seed oil
Two types of camellia oleifera: large-fruited Camellia oleifera and small-fruited Camellia tenuifolia are carefully selected and grown in Taiwan. The large-fruited camellia oleifera has larger fruit and is high in unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants, while the small-fruited Camellia tenuifolia has a higher oil content. The traditional cold-pressing method not only retains nutrients and a fruity aroma, but also processes at low temperatures using oil pressing to reduce the loss of nutrients in the tea seeds and retain the original fragrance and nutrition.
